Summary
In this sermon, Bro Mike discusses generational curses through an examination of King Herod and his descendants. He explains how Herod the Great was a dipsychus (having a fake soul attached to his real one), which manifested as murderous rage when triggered by perceived disrespect or threats to his power. This curse of violence, paranoia, and evil continued through his family line to Herod Antipas (who killed John the Baptist) and Herod Agrippa I (who killed James and imprisoned Peter).

He emphasizes that generational curses pass down family trees when children adopt similar sinful patterns as their ancestors. However, he offers hope by explaining that Christ has redeemed believers from curses through His sacrifice. To break free from generational curses, one must repent of the sins that perpetuate the curse and apply faith in Christ’s redemptive work specifically to the curse, just as one applies faith to receive forgiveness of sins.

Intro Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with open hearts and minds. As we discuss the reality of generational patterns and curses that can affect our lives, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment. Lord, help each person in this group to be receptive to what You want to teach them today. Remove any barriers of doubt or disbelief that might prevent us from receiving Your truth. Show us any areas where we might be experiencing the effects of generational patterns in our own lives, and give us the courage to apply Your redemptive power to those areas. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
