Sunday Podcast 175 with Michael W Smith 032226

Summary

This sermon presents a 12-step guide to healing and deliverance based on James 4:7-10. The pastor emphasizes that true spiritual freedom requires active participation and spiritual warfare, not passive waiting for God to act. The steps include submitting to God, resisting the devil, drawing near to God, cleansing hands from sin, purifying hearts, being afflicted and mourning over sin, letting laughter turn to mourning, humbling oneself before God, and not speaking evil of other believers. Bro Mike particularly addresses the concept of ‘dipsicus’ or double-mindedness, describing it as having a fake soul created by demons that attaches to one’s real soul. He stresses that deliverance requires genuine repentance, brokenness before God, and active resistance against demonic forces, using King David and Isaiah as examples of proper humility and repentance.

Intro Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and truth. As we gather to study Your Word, we ask that You would open our minds and hearts to receive what You want to teach us today. Help us to be honest with ourselves and vulnerable before You. Remove any pride or preconceived notions that might hinder us from hearing Your voice. Holy Spirit, guide our discussion and help us to apply these truths to our lives. We surrender this time to You and ask for Your blessing upon our group. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
