This is Misericordias Domini by the old method of naming the Sundays after Easter – call it Easter Three now, that’s easier. Today we’ll talk about the old Latin name for this day, and the Psalm from which that name derives.
We’ll be singing “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” and “Crown Him With Many Crowns” and you’ll need Psalm 33 open, together with the Apostles’ Creed. Our Gospel this day is Luke 24:13-35, recounting one of the other amazing events of that Easter Sunday so long ago.
